Juventus striker Alvaro Morata is Arsene Wenger’s number one choice striker to bring to Arsenal this summer, according to reports.
The Spaniard signed for the Serie A giants from Real Madrid in 2014 but Los Blancos have a buy-back clause that makes purchasing the 23-year-old complicated.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are expected to activate that clause this summer and are willing to sell the forward for around £30million.
Wenger was desperate to sign a forward last summer but, having failed with bids for Edinson Cavani and Karim Benzema, he placed his trust in Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott.
Morata has bagged 27 goals in 82 appearances for Juventus.
However, the Gunners have looked uncharacterisatically poor in front of goal and have scored just 52 league goals this campaign.
Morata has a modest ten goals in 42 appearances for the Old Lady this term but Wenger’s been a huge fan of the Spanish international since he burst onto the scene at the Bernabeu.
And, according to the Telegraph, the Frenchman’s made signing the £30m-rated striker a priority this summer and he hopes to do business with Madrid once they re-sign the forward.
