Peter Miracle Baby, a key figure in the popular Gengetone group Sailors Gang, has finally opened up about why the group will never reunite to make music together. Addressing fans on Instagram who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the group, Miracle Baby explained that contractual obligations signed by the members have put any future collaborations on hold.
The musician, known for his significant role in the creation of Sailors Gang, clarified that the group’s contract with their management included terms that severely restrict their ability to continue making music together. “I am the one who created the music group Sailors, and we signed a contract with some people. According to that contract, those people who signed us, who I will not mention, said that they own us as Sailors, including our names,” Miracle Baby shared. He further elaborated that although the original agreement included clauses granting third parties ownership of the group members’ likenesses, that particular term was later revised.
However, Miracle Baby explained that the core issue lies in the contract’s restrictions on the members’ personal music careers. “The problem is that if I were to work on a song with just one of the members, those people reserve the right to claim the song as theirs,” he said. He pointed out that such a situation would prevent them from collaborating freely, both as a group and individually.
The singer also noted that the group had no desire to work under these constraints indefinitely. “That is why we can never come back, because we don’t want to work for someone for the rest of our lives,” he emphasized.
Sailors Gang, known for their energetic Gengetone hits, rose to fame with their infectious tunes and high-energy performances, but after the contract issues, they have been on hiatus. Miracle Baby’s revelation comes amidst growing fan expectations for a Sailors comeback, with many supporters continuing to hope for the group’s return to the spotlight.
The message sparked varied reactions on social media, with fans expressing disappointment while others voiced support. Some suggested that the group could rebrand or work under new terms, while others called for a new direction in the Gengetone scene.
Despite the clear-cut reasons for the breakup, the future of Sailors Gang remains a topic of discussion among fans and music lovers alike. For now, however, Miracle Baby has made it clear that a reunion is off the table under the current contractual terms.
As the Gengetone genre continues to evolve, fans will have to look to individual members and other rising stars in the scene to fill the gap left by Sailors Gang.
