American rapper Mac Miller was found dead at his home in the San Fernando Valley.
Malcolm James McCormick was 26 years old and although he had had a consolidated career, his name jumped to the main headlines when he began a relationship with Ariana Grande.
Police sources informed American media that Mac was found around noon on Friday and was pronounced dead at the time, for apparent drug overdose.
According to the report, it was a friend of the rapper who made a 911 call from Mac’s house.
Miller began to have problems with substance abuse, following his breakup with Ariana Grande.
The rapper destroyed his G-Wagon crashing into a power pole in May and was arrested for being under substance, in addition to fleeing the scene, but police say he later confessed in his home.
After her arrest, Ariana wrote on her Twitter account: “Please take care of yourself” because she was clearly concerned about the substance abuse of the rapper.
After their separation, Ariana made it clear that he had been using drugs and that had been a decisive factor in ending their two-year relationship.
In fact, Miller’s single, ‘Faces’ (2014), was almost an autobiographical theme about his addiction, in which he also made reference to an untimely death.
According to a text published by Vulture, Mac said he had great pressure on public opinion
“Many times in my life I have had this pressure to maintain the standard of what I thought it was supposed to be or how it was supposed to be perceived,” he said.
On Thursday night, Mac still posted on his Instagram account a series of videos of a record player with the song ‘So it Goes’, whose lyrics read: “Nine Lives, Never Dies, Wed **, Heavens, I’m Still Drugged ”
