10 Interesting Facts You Didn’t Know About Zari Hassan

In 2018 February 14th, exactly on Valentine day, Zari Hassan announced that she had ended her legal marriage with Tanzanian bongo star Diamond Platnumz.

A move that was widely spoken across Africa, especially in East Africa’s three nations namely Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Below are some of the interesting facts you probably didn’t know about Zari Hassan

  1. Zari Hassan was born as Zarinah Hassan, 40 years ago on born 23 September 1978 in Jinja, Uganda. However other reports indicate that she was born in 1980, shoving of two years to 38 years old
  2. She is a mix race girl, born from a very complex heritage. For instance her maternal grandfather is of Indian descent while her maternal grandmother is Ugandan. Besides her paternal grandmother hails from Burundi.She is widely known for being a Ugandan socialite, musician and businesswoman.
  3. She was born to Islamic parents  Nasur Hassan and Halima Hassan. She is however a Christian in faith. Zari has three sisters and one brother namely Zuleha Hassan, Asha Hassan, Zara Hassan, Abdul Karim Hassan
  4. Currently she resides in South Africa, with her five kids in Johannesburg. Two with Diamond and three with late Ivan Ssemwanga
  5. In South Africa, she runs several business which she inherited from Uganda’s late money magnet Ivan. The businesses are mainly  a chain of schools and student hostels.
  6. She studied Diploma in Cosmetology at Institution in London, UK after graduating from Jinja Girls High School
  7. Zari married late Ivan in 2001 before divorcing him in 2013 after 12 years in marriage. Ivan later died in 2017 4 years after their bitter divorce. Zari would marry and settle with Diamond while Ivan was still alive.
  8. Her first single in 2007 got an award nominee ( “Oliwange” -You are mine ). In 2009 she won the Diva awards award of the year in the “Diaspora” category
  9. Zari met late Ivan in SA after returning from London, where she sired Pinto, Quincy and Didy. With Diamond (Naseeb Abdul Juma ) who was 10 years younger than her age, they got two kids daughter Latifah Dangote and son Prince Nillan 
  10. After Ivan died in 2017 via massive stroke and coma, Zari went back to South Africa from Tanzania to manage his vast business empire

During their break up, Diamond accused Zari for cheating with one of P-Square brothers Peter while Zari on her defense, stated that Diamond had grown fond of his baby mamas
