Kenyan celebs from the show bizz industry were some of the Kenyans who joined politics and went ahead to win their respective seats.
Below is a list of lucky Kenyan celebs who got elected in the 14th Parliament
1. Phelix Odiwour
Popular known as Jalang’o aka Jalas, former comedian and Kiss FM host was among the luck Kenyans who got into the parliament for the first time.
Jalas knocked down UDA’s Nixon Korir to win the Lang’ata area MP seat on an ODM ticket.
2. Babu Owino
Babu Owino aka Paul Ongili won back his Embakasi East parliamentary seat after boxing off his popular rival Francing Mureithi of UDA seat.
3. Ronald Karauri
Famous Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri won the Kasarani MP seat ironically on a UDA seat after he floored the seating MP Gakuya Mercy Wanjiku.
Karauri won it on an Independent ticket though he has quickly alligned himself with UDA party.
4. Mohammed Ali
Former Jicho Pevu host Mohammed Ali on KTN, won back his seat in Nyali for the first time on a political party.
In 2017, he had won with an Independent ticket.
5. Esther Passaris
Famous Nairobi politician Esther Passaris won back her seat as the Nairobi Women Rep on an ODM ticket. She went ahead to dedicate her win to her late father who died in 2022.
Passaris beat her close competitor Elizabeth Omanga with a good margin of victory
6. Alai
Famous ODM blogger and Kahawatungu founder Robert Alai won the Kileleshwa Ward seat on an ODM seat.
Robert had opted for an MP seat before downgrading to an MCA seat due to party recommendations.
7. Johnson Sakaja
Famous young and energetic politician Sakaja won the top seat on the land, Nairobi Governor, after beating his close Jubilee rival Polycarp Igathe .
8. DNG
Hype master, DNG won an MCA seat on a UDA ticket. DNG won the Woodley Kenyatta Golf ward
9. Zaheer
Nyaribari Chache MP-elect Merhali Zaheer Jhanda, before venturing into politics, was known for his flashy and exotic lifestyle.
However after being elected, he has vowed to work for his people before anything else at hand.
Jhanda, an Asian, garnered 31,694 votes defeating locals James Kenani (ODM), outgoing MP Richard Tong’i (Jubilee), Chris Bichage (independent) and journalist Eric Obino (Kanu).
10. Linet ‘Toto’ Chepkorir
Linet Chepkorir will be Kenya’s youngest elected Women Rep from Bomet County.
Linet was elected on a UDA ticket. The 24 year old said that she campaigned only on a budget of Ksh.100,000 in a moment where her competitors spent almost 10 times her budget.
11. Tabitha Karanja
Tabitha Karanja was declared as the winner of 2022 general elections after she emerged the top candidate with a UDA ticket.
Tabitha won the seat after beating her close rival Lawrence Karanja
12. Naisula Lesuuda
Former KBC journalist Naisula Lesuuda won back her seat and remain to serve Samburu West as their current MP.
13. John Kiarie
John Kiarie, who was lauded as one of the young first term MPs, was re-elected again.
He beat his fellow media personality Jamby Koikai
14. John Paul Mwirigi
John Paul who was lauded as one of the youngest first term MPs, was re-elected again.
Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi was first elected 2017 at the age of 23.
He defended his seat on UDA ticket.
