With a busy schedule throughout the 5 year term limit, some have managed to find humble time and conduct a wedding.
Here are Kenyan politicians who wedded their spouses while serving in parliament
1.Irungu Kangáta- Senator for Murangá
In 2018, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata said ‘I do’ to the love of his heart Mary Wambui in a lovely wedding attended by top politicians including President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The love-birds tied the knot at Gathinja Catholic Church in Wangu ward, Kiharu Constituency on September 15th, 2018.
Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura was chosen to be the best man while Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro picked among the groomsmen during the colourful ceremony. Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was also in the crowd.
2.Isaac Mwaura- Former Nominated MP
Former Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and his wife Mukami marked their third wedding anniversary celebration in Dubai on Friday June 29 2018.
In 2017, the Mwauras were dealt with a heavy blow after they lost two of their triplet kids as well as losing the Jubilee Part nomination ticket.
They downplayed the big catastrophes by taking a one year holiday off public life and responsibility.
Isaac and wife Mukami had tied a knot in June 2017 on 30th which included State House photo-shoot with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
His wedding came in 2017 while he was still serving as a nominated MP, under ODM party
3.MP Naisula Lesuuda
In 2018 November, MP Naisula Lesuuda married her love of her life Kiplagat at a lavish wedding ceremony at Lesirai in Samburu County
Member of Parliament for Samburu West Naisula got engaged to the husband on December 31, 2017 before wedding on 17th In November 2018.
“Here’s to new beginning… all said and done, I thank God for the growth that I have experienced both politically and in my personal life. Yesterday, marked an important day in my life. I said yes. Blessings in double portions. Here’s to love and light in 2018,” MP posted months back.

4. MP Johanna Ngeno
Kenya’s lawmaker Emurrua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno, in 2018 lost his bachelorhood status after he married the love of his life in a traditional wedding ceremony.
The MP had served for two terms before getting married , during which he kept it clear that a wife was not his priority in upbringing development in his area.
However, there was enough pressure from the tradion since he became an MP in 2013.
Trans Mara Sub-County Kipsigis Council of Elders Chairman Alexander Kosgei had ruled out that the MP must get a wife.
“Being married means one has a home and family,” Mr Kosgei said, adding that a wife would ensure continuity of the family. He said married people were more respected.
The lucky cute woman comes from Narok County
5. Governor Anne Waiguru
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru got her engagement ring at a deluxe hotel in Nairobi, the Lord Eroll hotel.
The event happened on 16th February 2019, two days after Valentine’s Day, which saw former Devolution CS and City lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo get their engagement official.
Waiganjo stated that “It was a beautiful ceremony. The time was right for us to take our relationship to the next level”.
Waiguru also confirmed that the event took place.
I was completely surprised. We had not been talking about formalising our relationship so I did not expect it. We had just come from holidays and were celebrating his birthday as we do with close friends every year.”
The two first met in Likoni, Mombasa near the ferry before they shared a bread and a soda. That was however 10 years ago in 2009.
Waiganjo was convinced and right from that moment, started pursuing her with phone calls and sms.
“She was on phone the whole time. I had to ask her why she was not paying attention to our date,” says Kamotho.
This forced them to make relationship ‘laws’ when they are together.
“We agreed that when we are together and with family, phones are kept aside unless it is completely necessary. I am not doing badly nowadays,” Waiguru confirmed.
6.Former MP Ababu Namwamba
Former Bundalangi MP Ababu Namwamba settled down with his second wife Paula Ann while still serving as MP.
7. Langata MP Nixon Korir
On 16th February 2019 Langáta MP wedded the love of his life Beryl Zoraima at an exclusive wedding held at the Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi.
Among those in attendance at the invite-only wedding was Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Senators Susan Kihika (Nakuru) and Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho).
The two lovebirds are parents to three children. The lawmaker’s wife is a lawyer working at the Kenya Pipeline company.
8.MP Hon Alois Musa Lentoimaga
The Samburu North MP Hon Alois Musa Lentoimaga casued a stir in his area after marrying a woman aged only 24 years old while he was at 60 years.
His first wife Raphaella Lento, 48, felt betrayed and threatened to walk out of marriage bond with the MP
In 2018 September, MP Lentomaga wedded his new bride Jamila, 24 years old.
9. Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro
On 25th May 2019, it was a big day for Kiharu member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro who got engaged to the love of his heart in a traditional Kikuyu wedding.
Kiharu and his lover Sophie got hitched after dating for a while.
MP Nyoro is also a businessman to boot
10.Shortest MCA wedding
In December 2018, Kenya’s shortest MCA Cornelius Kibet aka Sarasar — a nominated MCA from Nandi County — tied the knot with his beautiful wife.
