For many of you, the most prized possession you can publicly flaunt may be that smartphone that you saved for over 6 months to buy. Others would say it’s the designer shoes they bought for a few tens of thousands of shillings. Well, for Chandaria Group CEO Darshan Chandaria, that’s pretty much like a basic possession.
The flamboyant executive owns an ML 63 AMG Mercedes Benz, which costs a whooping 18 million shillings. That puts him on a whole different lane; among the Kenyans who own the most expensive cars on our roads.
What’s surprising about him is that despite his penchant for fast cars and great cuisine, he comes across as a humble guy. Mpasho TV caught up with him for an exclusive interview, where he got to reveal the most interesting fact that you didn’t know about him.
For the first part, we’ll show you his sleek machine, which has a top speed of 321.869kph. That’s sick, right! Other cars with such include the Cadillac CTS-V, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage.
Well, he says that he loves the car for different reasons.
“I just love that car. Generally, I’m a big fan of Mercedes. I just love everything about the interior of that car…the way it drives…the speed…I mean, the power of that engine is incredible. The sound of the engine and the way the car looks…I’ve got a special body kit on it,” he reveals.
He says that it’s the most expensive thing he owns and it is something that he has to take care of. Darshan is one of the “Lions” in the “Lion’s Den” TV show, which seeks to discover the next big thing in the Kenyan entrepreneurship realm.
