Kenya’s Leroy Mwasaru has been listed 2nd on Forbes 30 under 30  young entrepreneurs and next generation billionaires.

Humbled and honored to grace this year’s class of #ForbesAfricaunder30 in the Business category for the work we do with parent company, @Greenpactke. Also as the youngest honoree at 20. The journey continues. 🙏🏽

The 20 year old story of resilience deserves the award.

In 2014, Mwasaru and his fellow Maseno School alumni saved their school and neighbors from a leaking sewer using a green technology.

A tractor had broken one of the school latrines sewage line before it started leaking into their school environment and their immediate community.

The simple trip from the tractor sparked demonstrations from the community who were protesting against the sewage soaking their environment.

The 16 year old did not think so much, he came up with a bioreactor that used human wastes and organic waste to gift his school with biogas and organic fertilizer.

He went ahead to form Greenpact  which was making money by solving a serious problem in the society.

Already at his school, his idea has solved the schools waste problem despite winning several awards.

Forbes describe his firm Greenpact, as a company which produces and distributes affordable and high-quality innovative biogas digester systems to get biogas from both agricultural and human refuse.

He has a great mission of becoming the leading provider of clean household energy solutions across East Africa.

The young man living and changing lives in Kisumu, had his work impression on CNN, The HuffPost, Forbes, UpWorthy, and Grist.
