Real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran has a truly inspiring rags-to-riches story.

1. Barbara Corcoran grew up in poverty, sharing a two-bedroom apartment with her mother and nine siblings. Even her husband left her for a coworker.

2. Corcoran struggled with dyslexia, and, as a result, was a straight D student.

3. The New York real estate industry, like many other fields, is dominated by men but she did pass the barrier.

4. She worked 22 jobs by the age of 23 before starting her real estate empire. Corcoran has even said, “Failure is what I’m best at.”

5. Without the trials and tribulations she faced, Corcoran may have never gotten to where she is today.

After all, she refused to let any disadvantage stand in the way of her goals and sought revenge in its best form: great success.
