Nobody said that applying for a job, internship or training scholarship was easy.

Although in many cases the final choice depends on multiple factors that are beyond your control, there are decisive aspects that will determine whether or not the person responsible for hiring gives you a personal interview.

And as there is no second chance for a first impression, it is essential that your resume is impeccable.

1. Grammatical errors

If spelling errors and typographical and / or grammatical errors abound in a curriculum, they can be perceived as a product of the sender’s malformation, not encouraging in the prospect of finding a job or as a lack of interest responsible that can be shared by the person responsible for reading your curriculum. and schedule a job interview.

2. Inappropriate links

If you are not careful with the content of your social networks or post topics related to your desktop, avoid including links on your Instagram or Twitter.

Although there are jobs that may require an account on a social network, it is preferable to omit it if your profile is not suitable for the position. Avoid risks.

3.  Lies

Make no mistake, no matter how good it is on the curriculum, including more than we really know is not convenient, they will find out. It is preferable to be honest and want to learn and expand your experience.

4. Salary information

Including salary information for jobs you perform or performed is completely unnecessary and can discourage potential recruiters.

Nor should you add your salary expectations, because the intention of a resume is to show your professional experience and skills.

5. Ridiculous typography

Leave creativity to the presentation of your trajectory and skills and not so much to the types of Word fonts.

A well-designed curriculum can attract the company’s attention, but there are those who choose original or more elegant typographies that lose legibility. It is preferable to use the simple fonts that come by default in Word.

6. Don’t mention your skills or experiences

It seems unlikely to forget something so basic, but there are cases. Anyway, make sure that all this information does not go in a single block of text, where the person in charge of interviewing you has to look for useful data in a letter soup. The ideal is to structure the information clearly, concisely and in points.

7. Include what we don’t know how to do

We must not confuse being honest and, in your case, acknowledge your lack of experience with mentioning everything you don’t know how to do. We must not be negative, and since the curriculum will be built according to our professional life, it is preferable to show a predisposition to continue learning rather than a defeatist attitude.

8. Nonsense format

The creative format, especially for designer or advertising positions, can be a point in our favor, but normally most sectors value a standard format in which information is reduced to a readable and well-structured aspect.

9. Include totally irrelevant experiences

Is waiter work related to the practices of the financial sector you are applying for? Adding experiences that contribute nothing to your application may mean sending your resume in the “no” pile.
