1. You don’t rest after an achievement.

After an achievement you always feel compelled to do more. No achievement feels enough for you. You are always seeking for opportunities of achieving more. Entrepreneurs are known to be restless until they get the best of the best. It is this nature that enables them to grow their businesses continually.

2. You enjoy doing things differently

You hate the ordinary way of doing things to an extent that people think you are crazy. Some great entrepreneurs in the world started their ventures through doing things differently. Entrepreneurs are not satisfied with the status quo and often labeled as rebels at the time of starting their ventures.

3. Challenges are a great motivation to you

If you are often attracted to challenges this is sign you could be an entrepreneur. Challenges present opportunities. Aaron Walker, Founder of Camelback Ventures started his business to solve problems of his fellow entrepreneurs by creating a platform to support them with coaching, connection and capital to elevate their ideas.

4. You are a risk lover

Generally, entrepreneurs are known to take risks. They are not afraid of failure at all. Entrepreneurs know that failure is part of their walk and do not mind facing the struggle towards a great achievement.

5. You are not afraid of getting into trouble

If you find yourself doing things first and apologizing later. People around you have labeled you a rebel and you’re even seen like a black sheep in your family then you are an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are go-getters and they see no barriers in achieving their goals.

6. You face challenges creatively

You always come up with crafty ideas to solve problems. Creativity is an essential aspect of entrepreneurship. An entrepreneur needs creativity and innovation to sustain a business venture.

7. You used to sell things when growing up

You could be one of those children who started selling small stuffs at a young age, whether it was sweets, pets or snacks. Research has it that people who have such history make great entrepreneurs. Their minds start focusing on opportunities at a young age and hence it is easy for them to seize opportunities whenever they arise and convert them into successful ventures.

8. Traditions and Culture seem not to be your thing

Old systems of doing things don’t excite you. You are always trying to find new ways of doing things. Entrepreneurs tend to defy all odds in standing with their ventures. Sometimes entrepreneurs have to do things differently to achieve their goals.

9. You love newness

You love being in new places, making new friends, and discovering the world. Traveling is your thing. This encourages new way of thinking and doing things and an idea that could lead into a successful venture may result.

10. The idea of working for someone else doesn’t excite you

Being employed by someone is not evil or mistaken. But there are some of us who hate the idea of working for someone else. They want to be independent at any cost. To gain such kind of independence you’ll more likely be driven into entrepreneurship.

11. You take charge of things

You could be one of those who are naturally leaders. You always take charge of situations. An entrepreneur needs this quality. Entrepreneurs need to be in control of their ventures and to be in a position to lead the rest of the team.

12. Helping others satisfies you

You feel good whenever you help people. You are tirelessly looking for opportunities to share your gifting with the world. Entrepreneurs, especially social entrepreneurs start their ventures through the need to help others. David Kuria, a Kenyan entrepreneur saw the need to help communities living in the informal sector in Nairobi by providing them with high quality sanitation which saw him to starting Iko Toilet (Environmentally friendly toilets) which are affordable to the poor urban community. Iko Toilet has become a profitable venture and has now opened up to Nairobi’s Central Business District.

13. You are an optimist

You are the kind of a person who sees an opportunity in problems. You are able to make use of the pain and make a profit out of it. Entrepreneurs are not cry babies, instead of complaining over things, entrepreneurs look for ways of solving them. They are optimistic that there are good things in the midst of pain.

14. You are always curious

You are the inquisitive type. You keep questioning current trends and finding problems to solve. If you persist and keep looking into new strategies and solutions to give you a head start in your area, you might as well become the next big entrepreneur.

15. You are confident

It will take a great deal of confidence for an entrepreneur to deep into new waters. For you to be persistent in doing what you love you’ve got to be confident. Entrepreneurs tend to be the most confident people in the world because they have to stand against the odds in making sure their ventures thrive.

These ideas do not guarantee that you will be a great entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is accelerated and enhanced by hard work, persistent, networking and other related traits.
