City lawyer Steve Ogolla has made headlines after gifting his elder brother a brand-new Honda HR-V to help him expand his long-running taxi business. The gesture, shared on social media, highlights Ogolla’s commitment to empowering his family and inspiring others to support siblings in meaningful ways.
Ogolla’s brother, who lives in Sega, Siaya County, had been working in the taxi business for over a decade without owning a reliable vehicle. He relied on Ogolla’s old car, which frequently had mechanical problems, and sometimes borrowed cars from colleagues to serve clients. The new Honda HR-V, valued at KSh 2.7 million, offers him independence and the ability to grow his business. The SUV features a white exterior, chrome grille accents, LED headlights, and stylish multi-spoked wheels.
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Ogolla said, “He does taxi business, but he didn’t have his car. I got him this car. Now he can be his own boss.” He shared photos of the gift on social media, captioning them, “Gift of grace. From brother to brother,” encouraging those in positions of privilege to uplift their families.
This is not Ogolla’s first act of family support. Coming from a humble background, he previously built four permanent houses for his siblings, all designed with matching aesthetics. He has also invested in improving his family’s village, adding cabro and lighting to enhance living conditions.
The new car is expected to strengthen his brother’s taxi business, allowing him to operate independently and serve more clients efficiently. Ogolla’s gesture underscores the importance of family empowerment and setting a positive example through tangible acts of support.
