Job Purpose
Reporting to Business Performance and Monitoring Analyst Payments, the Payments Analyst has the responsibility of supporting the Payments Directorate in data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
The role holder is also the principal point of contact with the branch payments team including the Payments Supervisors and Payments Agents on performance related matters and projects. The role holder is therefore expected to have a broad knowledge of the Payments Business model.
Key Roles
- Support the Payments Sales Team, Payments Supervisors and Regional team with matters regarding performance
- Developing and maintaining performance dashboards for Payments Sales team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monitoring and periodic review of the Payments Commission Model to ensure business value is delivered
- Documenting insights from the commission model and making recommendations to the payments’ leadership for adoption
- Preparation of Payments Agents commission’s data for payroll processing within the expected timelines
- Timely resolving performance queries raised by payments sales team and payments supervisors at the branch.
- Assists the Business Performance and Monitoring Analyst Payments in aligning individual and team targets ensuring that the agreed individual and team targets adequately contributes to the achievement of overall business financial goals and objectives
- Works closely with the Business Performance and Monitoring Analyst, unit team leaders to drive and deliver performance across payments business units

Qualifications
- Graduate with university degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Economics, Business (preferably finance or accounting), Engineering, Computer Science – minimum second-class honors, upper division (candidates with first class honors degree will have an added advantage).
- Experience in handling large data sets within the financial services
- Knowledge of payments business and products
- Knowledge in business analysis tools including Ms Excel, Power BI and SQL
- Programming languages like Python, R, SQL will be an added advantage
