Students from Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) have taken to the streets to protest the killing their colleague who lost her life in an accident along Langata Road on Sunday.
The student who goes by the name Cynthia Akoth lost her life when a matatu veered off the road before overturning.
Four other people also lost their lives in the crash while several sustained serious injuries.
Ms Akoth who was a first year at the institution was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) but unfortunately she passed away.
Reports indicate that Akoth had just been admitted to Multimedia University to pursue a degree in Applied Communication and was only three-weeks old at the institution.
Her roommate revealed that she was going to visit her aunt who lives outside the city when she met her death.
The two joined the institution in September and they had barely known one another when Akoth passed away.

Another student by the name Karen Chepkemoi was knocked down by a matatu while crossing the road outside the university gate and she reportedly sustained serious injuries.
Fortunately she survived after being rushed to Sinai Hospital in Rongai. She was later transferred to Uperhill Medical Center.
Students from institution decided that enough was enough and that it was time to do something about the rising number of accidents.
They engaged police in running battles, paralyzing transport along Langata and Magadi roads.
