Tragic news has emerged regarding Kenyan content creator Tabitha Gatwiri, who was found dead in her home under mysterious circumstances. The cause of her death has raised several questions, with a postmortem revealing that she suffocated. The autopsy, conducted at Kenyatta University Funeral Home, confirmed that her passing was due to positional asphyxia, which occurs when an individual’s position impedes their breathing. In addition, the pathologists indicated that further tests would be conducted to determine if poisoning played a role in her death.

Tabitha Gatwiri, whose real name was Brenda, was well-known for her presence on social media, where she captivated her audience with engaging content. Her sudden passing has left her fans and fellow content creators in shock. Among those mourning her death is fellow influencer Naomi Kuria, who shared the details of the postmortem findings with the public. The family has confirmed that a full toxicology report will be carried out to rule out the possibility of poisoning or other forms of intoxication.

To help with her funeral expenses, fellow content creators, including comedian MCA Tricky, have launched a fundraising campaign. A Paybill number, 8026311, with the account name “Gatwiri,” has been set up to collect funds for her burial, which is set for Friday, November 15, 2024. The service will take place in Meru County, at her father’s home, with the funeral service being held at Thiiri Cultural Centre Kithoka, located on the Meru-Ruiri-Isiolo highway next to Mugene market.

In the wake of her passing, Kenyans have expressed their condolences and support for her family. Tributes have flooded social media, with many expressing their sorrow and offering their condolences to her mother and loved ones. The hashtag #RIPTabithaGatwiri has been trending as the community rallies to ensure she is given a dignified sendoff.

Her death has left a void in the online content creation community, and her legacy will live on through the impact she made on her followers. As her family prepares for the difficult journey ahead, they have requested that those who are able, contribute to her burial fund to give her a fitting farewell.
