A father and his two sons exchanged marriage vows with their sweethearts in a colorful wedding ceremony in Meru town on Saturday.
The father Jeremiah Mungania, and his two sons Nturibi Mungania and Muthomi Mungania, tied the knot with Monica, Purity and Edith respectively.
The three set of couples said “we do” at the Kenya Methodist University chapel in a fabulous wedding followed by a sunset toast at the same venue.
As opposed to the African tradition of parents escorting their children to down the aisle, for the three it was a very different case as they walked slowly down the aisle, each pair escorted by the best couples.
While quoting different Bible verses, the three expressed their joy and promised to live in love.
“I will love, treasure and adore you until death part us,” a happy looking Jeremiah said to Monica.
Guests ululated as the father and his two sons were asked by the presiding pastor to kiss their brides or hug them simultaneously after being declared husbands and wives.
At the end, the six love-birds held hands before joining guests for a photo-session outside the church chapel and later followed by a cocktail reception at the university grounds.
“We wanted dad to feel part of us despite having lost her sweetheart some years back. We let him have someone he loved to marry. It is then that we decided to formalize the relationships together as a sign of unity,” said one of the two sons, Mr Mungania.
He added that that they wanted to reassure their father and step-mother that they will be there for them at all times.
