Intern – Information Technology (IT)
To manage its progressive growth, SIB’s IT Department is looking to recruit an IT Intern to join their team.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the below duties and responsibilities:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design, execution and review of IT policies, plans and procedures in the company.
- Provide leadership in planning and budgeting process as well as budget monitoring and control.
- Ensure timely preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in accordance with the organization policies.
- Ensure efficient management of organization IT assets and operations compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Recommend acquisition of latest software and IT infrastructure to facilitate the upgrade of the organization’s internal and external customer interfaces for reliable service delivery
- Responsible for implementation, maintenance and repair of company’s network infrastructure and information system.
- Responsible for Software maintenance and hardware repair.
- Provide end user support.
- Responsible for Server management, data and group security policies.
- Responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies, such as communication systems.
- Configuring hardware and software,
- Setting up peripherals such as printers or routers,
- Repairing equipment, and providing daily support for computer network users.
- Work at a help desk, answering calls and e-mails regarding the computer network or communication systems.
- Responsible for writing reports, tracking inventory, evaluating new technologies, negotiating contracts with vendors, and developing contingency plans in case of network failure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related degree
- Technical training coupled with experience.
- Certifications offered by certain hardware and software vendors, such as Microsoft, are generally beneficial.
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and computer hardware.
- Be able to troubleshoot network systems and computer hardware and make repairs when necessary.
- ITIL / CCNA or any CISCO affiliated Certifications is an added advantage
