Tad Motors, a Kenyan electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially launched five new EV models assembled at its Naivasha plant. The lineup aims to cover all market segments: Amani, a compact city car ideal for urban traffic; Taji, a mid-size family EV; Dhahabu, a premium urban cruiser; Fahari, a luxury executive model; and Makena, a rugged utility EV designed for performance. This marks the first time a local manufacturer has released a full fleet to compete directly with imported vehicles, signaling a growing “Made in Kenya” presence in the mass market.
Urysia Limited, the sole importer and distributor of Peugeot in Kenya, has added Jeep and Citroën to its portfolio. Kenyan drivers can now access models such as the Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Gladiator, as well as the Citroën C3 and C5 Aircross. This expansion allows official servicing and sales under one distributor, enhancing convenience and reliability for buyers.

Vintage cars will be tested against dust, mud, and rough roads, concluding on December 13. Meanwhile, Nairobi will host the Africa EV Mobility Expo from December 4 to 6 at The Edge Convention Centre, bringing together manufacturers, infrastructure experts, and financiers to showcase the future of electric mobility. On December 7, the Sunset Corsa season finale will deliver head-to-head drag racing on ICD Road, while ‘The Bazaar’ at ASK Showgrounds offers a cultural automotive experience.
KIA has teased the next-generation Seltos, set for a global debut on December 10, 2025. Expect a bolder “Tiger Nose” grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and a panoramic sunroof. Rumors suggest a self-charging hybrid variant may join the lineup, improving fuel economy and appeal for urban drivers.
Helix, the UK electric motor manufacturer behind the Lotus Evija hypercar, announced it will supply motors for a hybrid supersonic jet engine. The technology used in hypercars could help create the next generation of supersonic travel, showing how automotive innovation extends into aerospace applications.
