As of 2019, Kenya with a population of about 47 million, had atleast 42 tribes.
However, among the 42 tribes, Kikuyu, Luhya, Kalenjin, Kamba and Luo were the most dominant tribes in Kenya
During pre-colonial period, Kenya was largely inhibited by tribes three key groups of speakers namely Bantus, Nilotes and Cushites.
However, during the colonial period, a high number of other group of speakers came in and intermarried with the locals.
Such included whites, Asians and other blacks from Africa
