Mugithi singer Samidoh, also known as Samuel Muchoki, has once again shown his commitment to supporting education and nurturing young talent. He pledged to cover school fees for a talented young boy who impressed him with his singing and confidence. Fellow musician Tony Young visited the boy’s school to deliver the generous gift, announcing that Samidoh would pay fees for two years and also provide KSh 10,000 for pocket money. The heartwarming gesture highlights Samidoh’s dedication to encouraging the next generation of musicians.
The news came to light when Tony Young shared how he first learned about the boy after receiving a video of him performing one of Samidoh’s songs online. “I decided to look for this boy to surprise him, not because he sings well or because people urged me to, but because of the confidence he displays. He really has great confidence,” Tony said during a school assembly convened by the head teacher. The assembly provided a platform to formally announce Samidoh’s support, which also extends to the boy’s brother and family, aided by Tony and his US-based associates.
During the assembly, Tony conveyed Samidoh’s message to the boy, stating, “Samidoh told me to come here and tell this boy that he is going to pay his fees for two years, until he completes Grade Nine. I am also going to top that up with KSh 10,000 for his pocket money.” The gesture ensures the student can focus on his studies while continuing to develop his musical talent. This initiative comes amid Samidoh’s ongoing efforts to support education, with several students he previously sponsored successfully passing their KCSE exams in 2025.
On social media, Samidoh praised the young boy, emphasizing the importance of supporting budding talent. “This young boy has been lighting up our timelines with his confidence and pure talent. It’s truly inspiring to watch. Moments like these remind us why it’s important to spot, support, and encourage young talent whenever we can. Encouraging the next generation matters, and I’m glad we continue to uplift them. Though I couldn’t make it in person, I sincerely thank my brother Tonny Young Official for stepping in and delivering my gift,” he wrote.
The generous act has earned Samidoh widespread praise online, with many fans applauding his commitment to education and talent development. By investing in young performers, Samidoh is setting an example for other artists and highlighting the value of mentorship and support in nurturing future musicians. His initiative demonstrates how established artists can create meaningful impact beyond the stage, inspiring confidence and ambition in the next generation.
