Kenyan comedian Mulamwah has resurfaced on social media weeks after taking an unusual break following a heated online feud with his ex, Ruth K. The two had been involved in a messy breakup, sharing private photos of each other, which sparked public backlash, especially over his use of his young son’s account to post the images.
During his time away, fans speculated about his whereabouts and expressed concern over his sudden silence. Mulamwah’s return introduced a new companion, Emiliana, sparking curiosity about whether his social media hiatus was planned or spontaneous.
In a question-and-answer session on Instagram, Mulamwah revealed that the main reason he returned was related to a business opportunity abroad. He explained that while he had originally intended to stay offline for a full year, he was offered a lucrative five-year deal in China that began last year, which he could not turn down. “Btw plan was to stay offline for 365 days, zero social media, had enough to last up to six years but sasa deals haziishi, unamaliza hii, ingine inaanza. Wasn’t even signing up for new stuffs … needed sometime off, China deal made me come back, coz it’s a five year deal that started last year,” he said.
Mulamwah also addressed public perception during his hiatus. He said that people often viewed him as a villain, but his personality includes both protective and caring sides. “How people perceive me as a monster or a bad person but am not, everyone is a demon and an angel too depends on which part is activated. Eg – If someone attacks your mum or loved one na uko karibu na tools hapo, trust me hutajua vile utajikuta umedeal na huyo mtu proper – its nature – am the coolest person ever, those close to me will tell you. Am just so territorial and go to all extends to protect my space like anyone else would. Because if I don’t a lot of people suffer,” he explained.
Fans welcomed Mulamwah back, sharing messages of support and expressing how much they had missed him online. “Tulikuwa tumekumiss sana hapa online Mulamwah, one of a kind,” one fan commented.
Mulamwah’s return reflects a balance between managing personal life, public perception, and business opportunities, showing that even after controversies, strategic decisions can guide an entertainer’s career path.
