Kenyan YouTuber Mungai Eve has addressed claims that she misses her ex, Director Trevor, years after their breakup. The two were once celebrated as one of Kenya’s most powerful young couples, admired for their “grass to grace” journey.
Recently, a quote began circulating on social media, claiming Eve expressed regret over leaving Trevor and admitted to being in serious depression. The purported statement read: “I regret leaving Director Trevor, my friends walinichocha, but now that things have gone bad wamepotea. I’m hoping he will forgive me because I’m in a serious depression.”
Fans quickly questioned whether Eve was depressed, especially after her breakup with ex Shifuwayy, who had previously accused her of planning to harm him. Observers had also noticed Eve taking a break from her YouTube channel, fueling speculation about her mental health.
In an Instagram Stories Q&A, Eve opened up about her struggles earlier this year but clarified the situation. She said: “Yes, I have. Earlier this year, between April and June, was honestly the toughest time of my life. I won’t even lie I spent most days in bed, barely eating, wishing it would all just end. It was dark. But I prayed hard, leaned on my family and a few close friends, and slowly found my way back. Seeking help and allowing myself to be supported made all the difference. I’m grateful to be here, stronger, and healing.”
Eve denied any claims that she misses Trevor. When questioned by a fan, she responded: “God forbid.” She also addressed the idea that she was living in regret, saying: “I also wonder how I can sit down and speak such.”
The revelation sparked reactions from netizens. Some fans questioned her past actions, with one suggesting an apology to Trevor would show growth, while others expressed admiration for her resilience. Many noted that despite rumours, Eve continues to present herself confidently and creatively online.
Mungai Eve’s clarification highlights the impact of social media speculation and the importance of separating fact from rumours. She continues to focus on her personal growth and creative work, dismissing narratives that suggest she is living in regret or longing for past relationships.
