Who can apply?

  • Local non-governmental organizations, associations, foundations
  • Catholic missions, other religious organizations
  • Public utility institutions
  • Administration at the central and local level

The applying entity must be officially registred in the Republic of Kenya.

What are the thematic areas?

The project proposal submitted to the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi needs to fit into the following Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations:

  • Goal 3: Good health and well-being
  • Goal 4: Quality education
  • Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
  • Goal 10: Reduced inequalities
  • Goal 13: Climate action
  • Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions

More information about the Sustainable Development Goals is available on the United Nations website. Please make sure the activities you include in the project proposal are sustainable and will benefit the local community for the years to come.

How to apply?

Please fill-in the Grant Application Form (to be downloaded below – can be submitted either in Polish or in English) and send it to: nairobi.secretary@msz.gov.pl by February 17, 2023 at the latest. You are free to include any attachments you find relevant to the application.

The maximum amount of financing you can request is 27 000 euros and the time-span of the project shall not extend beyond December 2023. Usually the results of the call for applications are published around May or June, thus the project duration cannot extend six months (June – December 2023).

You can, but are not required to, contribute financially to the implementation of the project. We do, however, encourage the applicants to include some information about their possible engagement in the project proposal, be it a financial, in-kind or any other way of contribution.

Important notice

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi does not pre-finance the project activities, but reimburses the funds incurred for their implementation. All bank transfers are made by the Embassy when the contractual tasks have been completed, on the basis of invoices presented by the beneficiary. It means that the applying institution first needs to fianance the project activities from its own budget and will be reimbursed once they are completed. There exists a possibility to divide project into several stages and get reimbursment after each of them is completed.

More information about Polish Aid priorities

Below you can find the Multiannual Development Cooperation Programme for the years 2021-2030 (in English and Polish) and the Development Cooperation Plan for 2023 (in Polish only), documents that give a more detailed information on Polish Aid priorities, both geographic and thematic.

Results of the call for applications

Due to the high volume of applications received every year, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi reserves the right to respond only to the selected applicants. The results of the call for applications will be published on the Embassy’s website around May/June 2023.
