Activities on a Westland bridge in Nairobi were treated to a rare scenes after a rotting body was discovered stuck under the footbridge chink on 5th July 5, 2018.
The body was discovered by Boda Boda operators who were called into action by awful smell coming from the bridge’s gap.
The volunteers who helped in reclaiming the body from the bridge claimed that the dead could have been living there after they also removed match boxes and other personal items from the scene.
As a team of efforts from Spring Valley police station, the Nairobi County Fire and Rescue Department teamed up to down the body, passersby and motorists could be seen covering their noses from the bad smell emanating from the body.
Traffic was later cleared by police as soon as the body was recovered.
Modern footbridges designed for pedestrians to use while crossing the roads have ironically turned out to be homes for street families during rainy and cold seasons.
