Owners of formerly known as Taj Mall continued to differ the demolition notice from Nairobi County Government weeks after it was marked for demolition.
Today’s Airgate Centre which is build on road reserve was spotted with workers painting pavements, sweeping grounds and washing around corridors floors.
This comes after their demolition notice expired on 30th August last month. According to some of the workers, the mall will be opening soon.
“We had around 120 employees working as gardeners, cleaners, security and office administration for the day to day running of the mall but now since the demolition matter began we have had to reduce the workforce to just barely 40 employees,” mall manager Amos Mogire told Nairobi News.
Few weeks ago, the owners dared demolition squad to set their feet on their mall.
