The much awaited Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final is finally here and Victor Wanyama has done a lovely gesture towards his family members .
The Harambee Stars skipper will spend nearly sh.2M on his family who will be flown to Spain, Madrid where they will watch the game live from the stadium.
Liverpool FC which features Divock Origi of Kenyan decent will face Wanyama’s Totenham Hotspurs on 1st of June 2019 at Wanda Metropolitano Estadio in Madrid, home to Spanish LaLiga side Atletico Madrid.
This is not the first time Wanyama’s family will be watching a UCL cup final.
In 2011, McDonald Mariga did the same gesture while playing for Inter Milan. Mariga went on to win the cup against Bayern Munich at
the Santiago Bernabeu stadium
Then, Mariga won the medal under the auspices of Jose Mourinho as his coach.
Fingers remain crossed as Kenyans hope that Wanyama will double the tally of Mariga being the only player from East Africa to win the coveted European cup.
