According to the ministry of education headed by Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, here is how the termly dates looks on the major events

This include opening , session, exam and closing dates for first to the final third term exams

2018 Pre-primary and primary schools terms dates

Term 1: Opening dates (2nd January 2018), Closing Dates (6th April 2018) (14 weeks)

Term 2: Opening dates (30th April 2018), Closing Dates (3rd August 2018) (14 weeks)

Term 3: Opening dates (27th August 2018), Closing Dates (26th October 2018) (9 weeks)

Examination Period: 29th October 2018-1st November 2018 (1 week)

2018 Secondary schools term dates

Term 1: Opening dates (2nd January 2018), Half Term (24th February-4th March 2018) Closing Dates (6th April 2018) (14 weeks)

Term 2: Opening dates (30th April 2018), Half Term (16th-24th June 2018) , Closing Dates (3rd August 2018) (14 weeks)

Term 3: Opening dates (27th August 2018), Closing Dates (26th October 2018) (10 weeks)

Examination Period: 5th November 2018-30th November 2018 (Three and half weeks)
