5 Things That Made Us Hate High School

High school years were the peak moments of our lives, more or less. Those four years spent inside that school, day or boarding really shaped our lives. However having the best moments there, we also had our worst; those moments that made us hate school or rather not look forward to school.

Waking up in the morning was the worst feeling ever. You would wake up at 4 am because of the morning preps, the chilly mornings and the showering with cold water was clearly not motivation to wake up at that time. Plus counting the hours you’d actually slept (6 hours) was not enough for your eyes to be wide awake at 4am. You’d end up dragging yourself to class and finish what you didn’t finish in the dormitories.

Another day I despised in all my high school years was the first day of opening school after the holidays, yes! You had a whole loads of snacks, yes! You’d missed your friends and couldn’t wait to see them but the thought of no TV or phone for the next three months was devastating plus you’d already adjusted to your home schedule of sleeping and waking up. So your body had to start adjusting again to the school schedule which was depressing.

Teachers extending their lessons especially during lunch and break hours was ever annoying .Get this, break was 20 minutes the teacher takes like 10 minutes of that break, the remaining ten minutes were not time enough to run to the dining hall and back to class before the bell actually rang. So you were stuck in class with your dry bread or empty stomach and had to wait till lunch.

Exam week was the worst. During this week you had to wake up like one hour early, sleep one hour late, eat your food in 10 minutes just to catch up on your latest notes and visit the library which was something you did only during the exam week. Let alone the teachers stressing in their targets for you and you putting your best effort to show your parents that you actually put your school fees to good use. Once exam week was over, school was basically over and holidays had already started.

Did I mention Sunday nights? This is when reality hits you another long week is coming. After spending your weekend like a boss, going for a funkie and having all the fun, sleeping in till 7 am, Monday comes back to remind you are still in school and your annoying school schedule is back on track.
