DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SANITATION
1. REGISTERED NURSE III, JOB GROUP “H” – 38 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
• Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patients’ outcomes:
• Providing quality nursing care by adhering to therapeutic standards by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards;
• Providing appropriate healthcare service including integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI, immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery, providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
• referring patients and clients appropriately;
• Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
• Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care;
• Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment and
• Collecting and compiling data.
Requirements for appointment.

• Diploma from a recognized college in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institutions;
• Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
• Have a good communication, analytical and reasoning skills;
• Be a strong team player;
• Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya

2. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 6 POSTS
This is the entry grade into the Medical Laboratory Technologists, Diploma level. Work at this level will be of limited scope and complexity and will be carried out under the guidance of a senior officer.
Specific duties will include offering analysis of specimens, Reagents preparations and other laboratory services in a clinical laboratory; blood transfusion services or Division of Vector Borne& Neglected Tropical Diseases or in Forensic and Pathology Laboratory.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be:-
• Be a Kenyan citizen
• In possession of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain) or its equivalent qualification with at least C in Biology or Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Physical Science, English or Kiswahili and C (plain] in Mathematics or Physics;
• In possession of a Diploma Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
• Registered by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
• In possession of a valid practicing license issued by KMLTTB and;
• In possession of a certificate in computer skills from a recognized institution.

3. REGISTERED CLINICAL OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 10 POSTS
The Clinical Officers will work under the Guidance of a Senior Officer.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties will include the following among others:
• Assessing and examining patients;
• Diagnosing and treating ailments at an outpatient department in a hospital or a health centre;
• Assist in planning and conducting primary health care activities;
• Coaching students attached to hospitals and medical centres;
• Supervising and counseling staff engaged on routine patient care and
• Giving support and health education to patients.

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Medical Training College;
• Be Registered by the Clinical Officers Council;
• Have a valid practicing license and

4. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST , JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 1 POST
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will work under the Guidance of a Senior Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties will be to oversee service delivery in the following areas, among others:
• Dispensing and compounding medicine
• Verifying and maintaining information relating to drugs issued to patients
• Ordering and recording of drugs and other supplies
• Guiding and counseling trainees and supervising of other staff working under him/her
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized Medical Training College
• Be enrolled by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board
• Demonstrate understanding of the commitment of the National values and principles of Public Service Governance as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Articles 10 and 232.

5. ASSISTANT HEALTH RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OFFICER III JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 3 POSTS
Assistant Health Records and Information Management Officer will work under the Guidance of a Senior Officer.
Duties and responsibilities
The specific duties will be to oversee service delivery in the following areas, among others:
• Collect information on health, compile, analyze and give report on the same for decision making;
• Maintaining correct, accurate and complete facility records while observing confidentiality;
• Providing Monitoring and Evaluation and data collection tools to medical facilities
• Registration of HIV positive clients for comprehensive care services, conducting regular site visits;
• Providing micronutrient supplementation and
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

6. PHYSIOTHERAPIST, – JOB GROUP ’H’ – 1 POST
The Physiotherapist will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer:
Duties and responsibilities
The specific duties will include the following among others:
• Providing physiotherapy services;
• Processing , verifying and maintaining information relating to patients;
• Safeguarding and ensuring maintenance of equipment and appliances;
• Guiding students on internship;
• Performing administrative functions in relation to the profession and
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized Medical Training College or any other recognized college;
• Be a member of the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists;
• Have a valid Physiotherapy License and
• Demonstrate understanding of the commitment of the National values and principles of Public Service Governance as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Articles 10 and 232.

7. ORTHOPAEDIC TRAUMA TECHNICIAN III, JOB GROUP “G” – 1 POST
Duties and responsibilities
• Application and removal of plaster and traction;
• Recording of procedures carried out on patients;
• Counseling patients;
• Ordering plaster and other supplies
• Assisting in planning and organizing orthopedic care
Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• A certificate of Kenya Secondary Education with a mean grade of D + or its equivalent qualification;
• Successfully completed at least two years pre-service training at the Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized training institution and have been awarded the Plaster Technician Certificate

8. ASSISTANT PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 6 POST
Duties and responsibilities
An officer at this level will provide environmental health extension services in the area of deployment, where specific duties and responsibilities will include:
• Mobilizing, sensitizing and advising communities on matters related to environmental health;
• Referring health cases to relevant health facilities;
• Carrying out immunization;
• Identifying environmental health issues at community level;
• Organizing community health days to advice communities on common public health issues;
• Collecting and maintaining up to date records of services rendered;
• Assessing the needs of the community;
• Implementing vector, vermin and rodent control measures; and
• Implementing integrated mosquito control strategies
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate must be;
• Kenyan citizen;
• Posses a Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution and
• Be registered by relevant Professional bodies

9. RADIOGRAPHER III JG “H” – 2 POSTS
The Radiographer will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties will include the following among others.
• Providing Radiographic services to patients.
• Processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients.
• Ordering and maintaining records of radiographic supplies.
• Performing administrative duties.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Be a holder of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with a minimum of grade C Plain or its equivalent.
• Be a holder of a Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiology/Medical imaging services/Ultra sound computerized Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging /Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Digital Medical Imaging or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Have good interpersonal relations with proven verbal and written communication skills.

10. ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNOLOGIST III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ – 2 POSTS
Work at this level is of limited scope and complexity and is carried out under a more Senior Officer.
Duties and responsibilities
• Provision of Orthopaedic services which entail preparation and fitting of appliances that are required in Orthopaedics;
• Asses patients’ needs;
• Verify and maintain information relating to patients;
• Order and maintain records of supplies as well as guiding, supervising and counseling of staff working under him/her.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to the position one must:
• Be a Kenya citizen;
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D+ or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology or possess an equivalent qualification from any other Medical Training Institution.

DEPARTMENT OF ROADS, PUBLIC WORKS, TRANSPORT AND ENERGY.
1. LOWLOADER OPERATOR/PLANT OPERATOR – 7 POSTS – JOB GROUP “E”
Requirements
• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Passed occupation trade test III for Plant operators
• Ability to operate at least two machines of difficult rating’ B.
• A valid driving license (special class).
• Suitability test for drivers grade III conducted by the Ministry of Roads.
• First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institute.
• Certificate of good conduct, from the CID.
• Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operating heavy earth moving equipment of different ratings as authorized.
• Keeping monthly records of services of the plants
• Preparing monthly and weekly service schedules and ensuring they are followed.
• Guiding turn boys and machine attendants.
• Preparing minor defects on machines.
• Liaising with the officer in charge for major repairs.
• Supervising cleanliness of the plant and assisting in training junior plant operators.
CLERICAL OFFICER – 2 POSTS – JOB GROUP “F”
Report to the Works Officer Roads and Transport.
The officer shall be responsible for:-
• Proper record keeping of all the files (payments, General).
• Ensuring that copies of all payment vouchers are properly filed at the department.
• Ensuring safe custody of all accountable documents.
• Ensure cleanliness of all offices.
Requirements
• Be a Kenyan citizen
• KCSE certificate
• Certificate / Diploma in Business administration/record keeping
• Computer literacy
