Popular Kenyan YouTuber and content creator Director Trevor has once again grabbed headlines after exposing private messages from controversial media personality Andrew Kibe. The unexpected reveal comes as a surprise to many, especially considering Kibe’s long history of criticizing Trevor, particularly during his former relationship with Mungai Eve.
In a video making rounds on social media, Director Trevor confidently showed screenshots of Andrew Kibe reaching out to him via Instagram. According to Trevor, Kibe slid into his DMs requesting his phone number, hinting at a potential collaboration or project idea that would benefit both of them.
“My brother Kibe is in my DM, asking for help. I’m a smart guy. Kibe is asking for help, bro,” Trevor boasted while displaying the verified account handle belonging to Andrew Kibe.
Trevor further elaborated that Kibe’s message read: “Share your number, I have an idea we can execute.” Trevor admitted that he shared his number and that the two continued their conversation on WhatsApp.
Beyond exposing the message, Trevor used the incident to encourage his followers, telling them that if they remain focused and resourceful, even their critics will eventually seek them out for help or collaborations.
“One thing, if you’re a smart guy and you know what you’re doing, people will just reach out. They want to be your friends, they want to be close to you,” he said.
While Trevor may have seen the exposure as a proud moment, many netizens felt differently. Some called him out for publicly sharing private messages, citing a violation of trust and “bro code.”
Trevor’s wife, Yvonne Kiki, also joined the conversation in the background of the video, supporting her husband’s narrative. However, her involvement didn’t sit well with many viewers, who felt she should have stayed out of it.
As part of the same video, Trevor also revealed his YouTube earnings prior to exiting the platform. A screenshot displayed on camera showed that he had made over KSh 14 million. This revelation reignited online discussions, especially from critics who had previously questioned his financial status during his public split with Mungai Eve.
Trevor and Mungai Eve were once one of Kenya’s most famous YouTube couples, creating content that attracted millions of viewers. However, their professional and personal relationship ended dramatically earlier this year. Trevor not only announced that he had fired Eve but also took control of their joint YouTube channel. In a past interview, Trevor shockingly revealed that Eve once hit him with a mwiko (cooking stick) after he used her phone charger without permission.
Whether Trevor’s decision to expose Kibe was strategic, personal, or purely for content engagement remains up for debate. However, one thing is clear: the drama surrounding Kenyan YouTubers continues to attract massive online attention, with fans, critics, and bloggers watching their every move.
