With just a straw, a syringe, needle and an oxygen mask, a passenger’s life on China Southern Airlines plane was saved by a selfless and heroic doctor while still in mid- air.
The incident happened on Flight 399 from Guangzhou to New York on November 19
A doctor named only as Zhang Hong is seen sucking urine with his mouth to unblock the gall bladder from an elderly man whose life was at an emergency level.
The doctor successfully saved the man’s life by sucking away about 700-800ml volume of urine from his bladder. And this heroic moment saved the old man.
The incident was first reported by the wife of the victim who could not urinate by himself while the plane was just about six hours to destination.
As a doctor, Zhang Hong said that it was his duty to save lives .
“The situation was very urgent and there was no other way to save him. I just wanted to help him extract the urine out as soon as possible. It is my instinct to save lives as a doctor.”
