Julius Kamua succumbed to his injuries at Kimabu General Hospital on weekend moments after arriving for treatment.

His wife, Winfred Kimanzi said that the deceased had complained of severe pain and he could barely walk on his own. Besides he had a swollen face.

According to his wife, the late charged an extra Ksh.20 because he would drop the passengers further than the rest of other matatus. Rather than leaving them stranded on the common bus stop where they would be forced to look for further matatu to drop their near their door steps.

He told me he did not see the point of charging the passengers ksh.80 then drop them off at Stima area and leave them stranded looking for another vehicle to take them to Mwiki. So he decided to charge ksh.100 then go straight to Mwiki

Kamau who was operating on the MSL matatu between Tom Mboya street in CBD and Mwiki in Kasarani, was beaten up after the sacco inspectors boarded his vehicle, proceeded to ask passengers how much they had been charged then decided to maim him.

His body has been scheduled for a postmortem procedure to establish the cause of his death
