Unprotected intercourse in university is not something new as many students ignore use of protection and risk infections and early pregnancy in favor of something ‘sweet’.
A Jkuat female student admits she makes over ksh 30,000 per month selling just pregnancy kits around campus. The student who name cannot be revealed for security reasons admits that students fear purchasing kits from the chemists and prefer buying kits from her. She however gets extra sales extending services to nearby Kenyatta university.
Shockingly , most of her customers are male students who are handed the task by their girlfriends in order to evade responsibilities.
“The kits go for Sh150, a price that shoots to Sh200 if she has to explain to novice customers how to use it.I buy a single kit at Sh40. Ordinarily, the kits cost Sh50 in public hospital facilities and and Sh100 in chemists. But because I have to deliver it secretly to your room, I charge Sh50 more. We make around 20,000 a month from selling over 200 kits” she says.
