On February 14, AD 296, a Christian man named Valentin was martyred and killed by Emperor Claudius II. The emperor was forbidden for young people because they said that they would be afraid to die because they would have feelings that would weaken them.

But Valentin, they thought fervently in love and that’s why he decided to secretly marry all the young couples in love , although this led to his death. Love and death are the protagonists on this day, proclaiming love to the four winds.

Thanks to this act of love, on February 14 is celebrated the day of lovers, because in one way or another the lovers were and will always be the protagonists.
